Communications Specialist
Due to growth of our operations, we are recruiting an GSM/Comms specialist who wants to work on cutting-edge projects. You will be designing and supporting high-end communication for the owners of super yachts worldwide. The solutions you design are being used in some of the largest super yachts in the world. We work with high demanding clients’ who have high expectations. This function is based at our office in Amsterdam, you will also be travelling once in a while to the shipyards.

What will you do?

• Pre engineering/sales of GSM (passive, hybrid & active), UHF, TVRO, SATCOM, WiFi systems for vessels
• Creating low and high level network design solution of GSM (passive, hybrid & active), UHF, TVRO,SATCOM.
• Analyzing and writing technical reports and drafting technical specifications
• Commission and integration of the GSM/Comms systems onboard the vessels
• Testing of cables, frequency and technologies
• Responsible to keep up to the right quality by controlling of the installed installations on the vessels
• Troubleshooting, quickly and efficiently get to the bottom of any technical issue
• Working on the optimization of the radio frequency
• Come up with elegant, robust and cost-effective networks meeting and over achieving the client’s requirements
• Build relationships, both internally and externally
• Give training on the job to owners/crew
• Continues working on improvements and new ideas. You will work in a technical fast-paced environment.
  
  

What to bring?

• A degree in either IT, Telematics or Electronics
• Minimum of 10 years Telecommunication Experience GSM, UHF, TVRO, SATCOM, WiFi and Radio Optimization
• Experience in installation, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting remote and local
• IBWave certificated (indoor) planning/design/prediction (a big plus)
• Anritsu line sweeps certificated
• Knowledge of installing cables, frequency and technologies
• Analyzing technical requirements, system architectures, policies, standard, emerging technologies, creating technical specifications and able to give trainings
• Experience in supporting other departments like Sales Engineering on pre-sales
• A hands-on approach
• An analytical mind
• Fluent in English is a must
• A thorough understanding of A/V systems is preferred
• Willingness to travel, accurate, hard working
• Flexible, eager to lean and no 9 till 5 mentality
• Driver’s license
• Last but not least a drive for delivery of high quality solutions and the willingness to go the extra mile to over achieve customer expectations
